Carrie Ryan's young adult zombie novel The Forest of Hands and Teeth has just been sold to Seven Star Pictures, the studio behind Kristen Stewart's upcoming movie K-11.
The novel, which was published in March by Delacorte Books for Young Readers, has been an instant hit with critics and book bloggers. It tells the story of Mary, a girl living in a small village bordered by a fence to keep out the Unconsecrated -- savage zombies intent on destroying the town and everyone in it. Add a little bit of romance and a gutsy female heroin, and you've got a teen thriller to rival Twilight.
Rumor has it that an A-list actress is tipped to star in the movie (could it be Kristen Stewart?), and a first draft of the screenplay is being written as soon as possible.
My Thoughts...
I absolutely loved this book, and after reading it, I thought it would make a great movie. Now, I love Kristen Stewart. In Twilight. But if she ends up being cast as Mary, I feel as though I wouldn't enjoy it very much. But that doesn't mean I won't see it. Besides, it sounds like it is not set in stone quite yet. But I would sure love to see this on the big screen. It would be so creepy!

I'm excited that it's becoming a movie, but not so much on Kristin playing Mary. I've never been a big fan of her's.
Amber
I ADORE the book and I hope the movie is at least okay.
what the heck
they're considering kristin stewart to be mary in a movie? that'd be weird! But I totally loved the book though! :] and isn't there gonna be another book?
Ahhh! I havn't read this one yet, But I definitly will very soon. I love books being turned into movies! And I agree when saying that Kristen Stewart probably wont be the best actress to play another book turned into a movie.
Kristin stewart doesn't exactly fit my image of mary. For some reason, she over-acts and it comes off as a bit fake. She's a cool person though! Now you just have to wait a year for the sequel. :-(
