Kate Brown's life has definitely gone south. Her best friend, Anna, became popular and won't even talk to her. Her father quit his job to sell Perfect You vitamins in the mall. And even her brother, Todd, has moved back in after college.

There is also Will. He is basically the most popular guy in school. Kate likes him, but won't admit to it. But, she thinks that she is just his latest interest, since he supposedly hooks up with every girl he meets.

As more and more things happen, Kate's life slowly goes even more downhill. She figures that if she keeps to herself and stops caring, everything should be fine. Eventually, she realizes that good things can happen, even when things are so terrible. But if only she will let them happen..

This book was really good. I read it so fast because I was just hooked from the start. Kate kind of pissed me off throughout the book, just because of the way she wanted to befriend Anna again, and the way she treated Will when all he did was talk to her. But, by the end, I loved it. The ending was really sad. I didn't expect it to happen either, so that was good. I recommend this book to anyone. :)

Samuel and Martha Blink just moved to Norway to live with their Aunt Eda and Uncle Henrik after their parents died in a car accident. It’s time for school to start, and they must keep their mouths shut (especially Martha, for she certainly knows how to babble) about what is really in Shadow Forest. If anyone found out, especially Mr. Myklebust, they would be in trouble for keeping it a secret.

Troll-Son and his family lives in Shadow Forest. Troll-Mother is going to send him to the Betterer (the worst place imaginable for a troll child!) to make him, obviously, better. So, he runs away to be with Samuel Blink, whom he met before in the forest. Troll-Son leaves the forest to find Samuel.

When Samuel discovers Troll-Son, it is his job to either keep him there, away from the Betterer, or to make him return back to the forest. When he decides to hide him, his aunt and uncle discover him shortly. This is a problem, since Cornelia, Mr. Myklebust's daughter, is over. (Mr. Myklebust is bribing Cornelia to spy on the family) What will happen when Cornelia tells on the family about having a troll in their house? What happened to Troll-Mother, or the Betterer?

I absolutely loved this book. It was funny and entertaining, as well as having suspense. I enjoyed it so much! I liked how it was written: each character had their thoughts put in some way or another. At first I thought the book would be more so for smaller kids, but once I got to reading, I was hooked. The writing was just so easy to get hooked to.What made it even better was that I am Norwegian. I thought it was fun to read a book that takes place in Norway. I recommend it to anyone, really. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!

Then Nick Crawford checks in. He's sexy, smart, and ambitious; headed for NYU. He's filming a documentary on South Beach architecture. Amber wants to be with him, so she hangs out with him, shows him the sights.

When he catches something scandalous on tape, what will happen? Does he delete it like he tells Amber he will, or will he do something terrible? Remember: Not all publicity is good publicity.

This was a good book. Amber was a fun character. I enjoyed Mary's writing. Some things in the story weren't very important. I thought Nick was kind of sketchy from the beginning. Then there was a part with a band that was staying at the hotel, and it wasn't important at all to know, so I didn't really like that. This book was good, but I don't really recommend it.
