Marisa would love to have a fresh start her freshman year. A boyfriend is at the top of her list.

The people in her life? Derek, the boy she wants, already has a girlfriend. Her best friend, Sterling, is always falling for guys that are too old for her, has turned to online dating. Her whole family is acting weird, especially her parents. Then there is Nash, her childhood friend/neighbor. They share the dock down at the river.

And then there is the DJ of an underground podcast that the whole school is listening to. The guy is named "Dirty Dirk," and Marisa feels like he really knows what she is going through in all of her relationships. If only she could find out who he really is.

Grade: A

I was soooo stoked to get a copy of this, since I fell in love with When it Happens. Thanks Susane! :) I'm not sure where to begin...But I shall try! :) I absolutely loved the plot. A lot of teens can relate to it--you realllllly like this one guy, but the guy you should like is right there in front of you. I really enjoyed all of the characters, especially Nash...I loved him! I think there should have been more to the relationship disruption between Marisa's parents though; that is the only thing I would like to know more about before the...something. So, to sum it all up, this book was pretty much amazing. And you should for sure go pick it up once it comes out!

As for an update...Not much is going on over here. I've been way busy with school and work. My first big speech is on wednesday, so I will be busy with that. I'm nervous! And I have an essay due monday. I'm currently reading three books: Nights in Rodanthe (won't post a review, most likely), Waiting for You, and The Stolen One. I will probably finish up Waiting for You first, so expect that soon...hopefully! And as for that one boy I texted? Nothing there. We were going to hang out, but he never texted me, the jerk. haha Oh well!

Fifteen year old Haven has way too much going on in her life. Her parents got a divorce; her father left her mother for Lorna Queen, the Weather Pet, his coworker. Her sister, Ashley, is getting married to skinny-tie wearing Lewis Warsher. Haven doesn't know why though, since he is boring. And lastly, Haven is a giant. She is almost six-feet tall and still growing.

Haven is having trouble figuring out who she is and where she belongs. The world revolves around Ashley and her wedding. It's what she is used to. Then Sumner, Ashley's first love returns to town. Haven is reminded of the summer where everything was perfect. Her parents were happy, Ashley was nice to her. Sumner brought them together. Or was it perfect?

Grade: B

This was the only Dessen novel I hadn't read, and I of course had to jump at the chance to borrow it from Krysten! I would have to say this was my least favorite of her novels. I'm still not sure what I think of Haven's character. I knew I didn't like her best friend, Casey, or her sister, Ashley. I enjoyed Sumner's character a lot. So, like I said, I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did all her others, but it was satisfactory. I wish there was more to the ending though.

*It is realllly hard for me to write a synopsis for this book without giving too much away, and not enough. So, here's my best attempt!*

Lucinda Chapdelaine has been an orphan ever since her parents left for a ball and never returned. She was taken in by her uncle at his jewelry shop, and must endure her wicked step-aunt. And then a woman named Beryl came into the shop. Since then, Lucinda's life has changed forever.

All in the same day she saw Beryl, the Prince comes to the shop, and a thief boy sneaks into Lucinda's room and stays the night. Peter, the thief, steals something from Lucinda, and she must find him to get it back to Beryl, the rightful owner. But she isn't the only one looking for it.

When she finally finds him, he has sold it--to the Prince for his betrothed. What will Lucinda do to get it back to Beryl? What other twists and turns will she get herself into along the way?

Grade: B+

This book was very interesting. It is kind of hard to explain. It was hard to put down, that's for sure. I think this was Julie Berry's first YA novel, and she did very well. I liked all the characters. For some reason, I loved it whenever Peter came around Lucinda. He was really fun and sarcastic. The only thing I didn't like about the story was the ending. It was abrupt, which I hate. I have no idea what happens to all the characters. Overall, it was an enjoyable story, with some very intriguing characters.

Eden decides to take Concert Choir--an easy A, of course. But she doesn't expect to enjoy the class. Or the teacher, Mr. Christian. He is a god on the piano, thoroughly gorgeous, and totally oblivious to his mega-hotness. Eden is drawn to him instantly.

She knows it's wrong to like her teacher. But he is nothing like the boys she has had in her life--he is a man. A relationship between a student and a teacher is more than complicated. But Eden always gets what she wants.

Grade: A

I had no idea what to expect when I got this book. I wasn't even fully aware of what the story was about. But once I started, I couldn't stop. It was AMAZING. I have never read about a teacher-student relationship before, so I was really intrigued. The writing was great. I could feel the passion between Eden and James (Mr. Christian). I could feel how much Eden wanted to be with him. I loved James. He seemed perfect, and extremely cute. :) The only thing I didn't like was the ending, because it left me unsatisfied. I have no idea what will happen with Eden and James, and I want to know! To sum it up, this book was amazing, and I am going to keep my eyes peeled for more books by the author. You should read this.
